I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
